ITINERARY

Night train Hanoi to Lao Cai: 8:00pm car picks up at hotel in Hanoi and transfer to the train station to get on the night train to Lao Cai. Spend the night on train in a deluxe cabin (shared 4 berths/cabin, air-conditioned)

Day 1. Lao Cai – Sapa

Upon arriving in Lao Cai in the early morning, you'll be greeted by our guide and embark on a scenic 1-hour car ride uphill to the picturesque town of Sapa. This journey provides a tantalizing glimpse of the breathtaking landscapes and impressive rice terraces that await you. Upon your arrival in Sapa town, savor a hearty breakfast at a local restaurant, and take some time to rest or explore Sapa's vibrant ethnic market.

Prepare for a captivating hike through the awe-inspiring Sapa valley scenery. The journey commences along the winding road that descends, offering picturesque views along Cau May Street (6km). Along the way, be captivated by the rice terraces, cloaked in the morning mist—a truly mesmerizing sight. As you follow a narrow trail, traverse the Muong Hoa River, passing by meticulously tended rice terraces en route to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Continuing your trek amidst the vibrant rice terraces, you'll reach Ta Van village, particularly stunning during the rice season from June to September. While trekking along the Muong Hoa River, you'll encounter a small suspension bridge, located approximately 2km from the village. Here, you'll discover a captivating collection of rock carvings featuring intricate depictions of humans, stilt houses, and exquisite decorative patterns.

Lunch will be served at a local home in the village, where you'll relish typical local cuisine. After lunch, your journey continues through a lush bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, an ethnic Red Dao village. Take a rest near a refreshing waterfall before embarking on an uphill climb towards a road where a car awaits to transport you back to Sapa.

For dinner, you can explore local dining options at your leisure. You'll spend the night in Sapa.

Day 2. Sapa – Hanoi 

Prepare for an Exciting and Informative Day Ahead. Begin by Navigating Through the Bustling Market and Leaving the Town Behind. After a Short While, You'll Follow a Downhill Road Leading to Cat Cat Village. En Route, You'll Encounter a Picturesque Waterfall and a Hydroelectric Station, Offering a Perfect Spot for a Refreshing Pause. Continue Your Descent to Reach Sin Chai Village. Hop into a Car and Return to Sapa Town for a Delicious Lunch.

Check Out of Your Hotel and Enjoy Free Time in the Afternoon to Explore the Town at Your Own Pace. (Alternatively, You Can Opt for an Excursion to Fansipan Summit via Cable Car, Please Inquire for Additional Cost)

At 16:00, We'll Arrange Your Transfer to Lao Cai Station for an Overnight Train Journey Back to Hanoi.

You'll Arrive in Hanoi Early the Following Morning, Around 4:30 AM. Taxi Arrangements to Your Hotel Can Be Made Independently. This Concludes Your Tour.

The trekking: This tour comes with a slight trek through the hill tribe village (5-7km/day), we also arrange car transferring on the way back to hotel. Car transferring both ways is available upon your request.
Homestay is totally different from hotel due to its basic and simple facilities.
Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.

What to bring: Trekking boot, sun block, hat, anti-insect repellent, sunglasses, rain coat, toiletries, original passport.. because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in November, December, January, February and March.
